Putting her parents to shame
My neighbor- an avid triathloner- heard through the grapevine that the Girl likes to swim...and can run...and had seen her on her bike. So- Ms. Neighbor came over with a brochure for a Kids Triathlon, suggesting she should try it.
Had she done one before? No.
Did she know how they work? No.
Did she know anyone else who was doing it? No.
Did any of that matter? No.
Did she decide to do it? Yes.
Were her parents busting buttons w/ pride (as triathloner wanna-be's..Ha!!)? Yes.
You also need to understand that part of the reason I'm proud is that she had no good genes in this area... Mom failed "Guppy 2" swimming lessons... twice.

She did it. She wasn't first, but she wasn't last. Best of all, we overheard her tell a friend on the phone that she wants to do it again next year. Very cool.
She was a *bit* nervous before the swim but things all came together...

So- what do your kids do that you never would have dreamed of doing yourself?

I LOVE that she does all these things! My girly would like it to. Gosh, our hubbies AND kids would get along fantastically!! ;)
How long was the swim/bike/run?? I am assuming it wasn't a full length one. I'd love to do that, but I'm just NOT a strong runner. I'm having a tough time myself getting up in my time/distance. But, LOVE bike & swim! Maybe you and I could split one. hehehe
Tell E CONGRATS! Great job!
Congratulations!!! That's quite an accomplishment.
My oldest girl is running in the Peachtree Road Race today. A huge event (10k) with 55,000 other runners. I'm wondering where on Earth she got that gene from. Not from either side of the family that I can see.
Swimming and biking I could do, but not running. Congrats again!
That is fabulous!! I'm quite impressed. :)
another tri-wanna-be here! and i am *so* glad you got her in the swim cap! yay!
